A step. That’s all it really takes. One step.
I’ve always been a person with a vision. I know exactly the kind of life I want to live and I’ve planned it all out. But I’m not backing up these plans and visions with any tangible actions.
I have narrowed down the causes of my issues to three main points
1. Self-discipline
2. Motivation
3. Accountability
Once I integrate these three skills into my life, I have no doubt that my negative spirals and frustration with myself will become manageable.
But why do I lack these in the first place? Because bad habits grow faster and more viciously than good habits. That’s pretty much it.
Action impacts habits. Habits cause patterns. Patterns dictate your life.
It really does just start with action.
So figure out where you’re going wrong and plan out how to improve and then run for it. If you can’t run, then walk to it. If you can’t walk, then take a single step. Speed doesn’t at all matter, but movement does.
I'm happy for you, but just make sure when you 'discipline yourself' you aren't abusing yourself to the point of exhaustion. I hope you are displining yourself in a way that just sets small boundaries for yourself that don't stress you the hell out. Make sure you are happy with what you are doing and not making yourself depressed by 'disciplining' yourself too much, most of the time 'you are your own worst enemy'. A quote from a good friend.
