I realised I had forgotten to drink water for 2 literal days (because the slab of meat floating in the juice of its very own making in one’s skull, powered solely by electricity tends to malfunction sometimes)
I cannot wholely describe the satisfaction drinking the first swig of the ethereal element of water, in her graceful and healing state.
Dehydrated.
The lack of water.
What other elements am I lacking?
Fire.
Our ancestors would take the opportunity to sit around the fire and tell stories. Rich and decadent stories, bursting with multitudes of depth. They would dance, dance to their innately human beats, wildly swinging their limbs and thumping their raw rhythms without fear of judgement.
Heat. Sweat. It was all part of the divinity of fire and the sacred binding that took place around him.
Earth.
Our ancestors would live solely off the Earth, accepting the sweet gifts Mother Earth was eager to give. All necessities for nourishment were taken straight from the soil. The Earth was a place of rest, both for the night and for the eternal, and it was honoured as such. No one dared to disrespect her fertile beds because it was their beds too, and more importantly, they loved her.
Air.
Our ancestors would honour his cleansing spirit by acknowledging the essential life force that flowed through him. Prana. They would gladly take showers in his sprints and allowed him to take away all their attachments because they knew that he knew when it was time to rebuild. Air allowed us to transcend dimensions, reach Nirvana, as long as you knew just the right way to breathe him in.
I’m deficient in all of the above. The cleansing sanctity the water brings, the divine togetherness fire creates, the raw nourishment the earth provides and spiritual wonders the air shows.
We look down at the humans that came before us because it’s obvious that we’re more evolved since we have superior creations such as Tik Tok, clout glasses and anxiety but I truly believe our ancestors had it right all along.
As much of a tragic dad-joke this sounds to be, I don’t think we’re all just dehydrated. We’re de-elemented.
And I cannot at all wait to reunite with my 4 buds and, with their help, achieve complete harmony in mind, body and spirit.
