Recently I’ve observed this phenomenon and it’s quite literally transformed the way I see the world! It’s,

Empowered people empower people.

I first noticed this when I wore white eyeliner to school and then Ayisha started doing a striking pink wing every other day.

And then when I was fangirling to the girlies about how much of a life-saver meal-prepping is and just how much easier it is to concentrate at school with a full stomach, two of them started meal-prepping too!

And then when I was watching Alexandra Ocasia-Cortezs’ documentary (for like the 14th time) about her run for congress as a young woman-of-colour, waitressing to make ends meet and striving to make her working-class parents’ sacrifices proud,

My seemingly out-of-reach aspirations hidden away in the swamps of Yass suddenly seemed like they were anxiously awaiting me in my back pocket.

Empowered people empower people!

When you consider its antonym,

‘Hurt people hurt people,’ you realise how powerful you truly are.

You aren’t some random, separate system waddling around in your own irrelevant bubble, but an important, a vital, a crucial part of everything around you and you genuinely hold the power to influence everyone around you.

You don’t need to advertise hair gummies or juice cleanses to be an influencer,

You just intrinsically are.

You can spark raging flames of hate and hurt or water delicious blooms of empowerment.

This choice lies in your hands alone.

I promise you, dear reader, no seed of empowerment is ever wasted or too small. The unfortunate reality is that most of the times, you won’t even realise that you’ve empowered anyone at all! The world seems to be comfortable in silent observation, however, the change and betterment that you’ve inspired is still blazing forth!

Your conscious decision to live authentically, giving compliments when you feel something deserves to be hyped up and making choices that better your human experience

Are bound to revolutionise someone else’s life. I can guarantee it with complete certainty.
