Powerful Women

I want to show gratitude to a group of women, that no one else usually thanks.

The intimidating women, who dare to walk with thundering footsteps and make direct eye contact. Always.

The brave women who say what they believe is right, no matter how outrageous or taboo it is.

The loud women who say every word with purpose, and laugh every laugh with passion.

The women who take up space and never apologise for doing so.

The bold women who make statements with every movement, every outfit and every word.

The bossy women who radiate determination and have an unforgettable presence.

These women are the backbone of every society. Yet, no one seems to acknowledge them and instead they live through a lifetime of being denied their femininity by everyone around them. These women are shushed and shunned, because it isn’t ladylike to have an opinion, have a presence or have a voice.

I’ve had enough.

To those women, I hope you know how magical and irreplaceable you are. I hope you know that being quiet and submissive is not what makes a women, but instead it is the love and acceptance she has for herself.

To my powerful women, your time is now.
